Can I Stop My Sale Date


This is a dangerous and tricky situation.  Sale dates many times can be stopped, simply by having a modification in review with the lender.  However, this is getting more and more difficult because if you think about it, from the lenders perspective, if your house is going to sale then at this point you have either been denied for loan modification multiple times or you have not been communicating with them at all for a long time.  This being said, if you can show the bank you have a new modification packet on file that may qualify for a loan modification program they may stop the sale.


Other ways to stop the sale include stall tactics through Bankruptcy.  Many people realize they can file a bankruptcy to stop the sale at the last minute and thus they do so and they think their problems are over.  This in fact is not a permanent solution, it is simply a stall tactic that will buy you a few more months but come with its own upfront costs.  If you house is being threatened with a sale date the best thing to do is speak with a reputable local attorney from your state.
