Countrywide's Fast and Easy Loan


A previous employee from Countrywide Home Loans is speaking out about the fraudulent activity that went on while working there. Cassandra Daniels worked for Countywide for 4 years as an underwriter, and she lost her job in 2007. Daniels underwrote a lot of loans named "The Fast and Easy". These types of loans required little or no documentation.  Daniels stated that while working on these files she would be constantly declining them due to inflated income, and or suspicious social security numbers. However, her managers would override her decision each time and approve the files. Daniels requested additional documentation to support the income, and her managers would tell her that was not necessary.  Daniels felt that her managers were "driven by pure greed and they did not care that it was at the expense of other human beings".
