The loan modification process is very straight forward but takes patience. It starts by speaking with your lender and letting them know that you are enduring a hardship and you need to know what forms they need filled out and what documents they need to start the process.  Make sure you find out exactly where to send the package because that is very important. Next, call back to more times and ask the same question again.  It may seem silly but you need to find out as much as possible and many reps are not well trained.  Next send in the packet and follow up every week while recording every  time you call and every little thing you do.  Finally, sit and wonder why they have lost your packet and have denied you three times.  It's not easy and it doesn't make sense and this is why Loan Modification 411 exists!
